Performances and participation in events
YOKE encourages students trained in its various workshops to perform at events organised by the district administration and other NGOs. The performances of children and young adults at Saaral Vizha at Kutralam and Pongal Vizha at Tirunelveli, organised by the Tourism Department have been appreciated widely.
Community celebrations
At YOKE we celebrate all festivals including New Year, Pongal, Diwali, as well as national holidays as a community. Young and old, boys and girls participate in these celebrations.
Cultural festivals
In 2019, “Svanubhava – a festival of performing arts” was organised at the government higher secondary school in Nadukkallur in collaboration with the Svanubhava foundation. The day-long events, which included puppet theatre, Carnatic music, Bharatanatyam, Sufi music, folk dances and percussion ensemble were well received.
